You (and your company) have created/re-created an excellent mechanism.  Not only is the original engineering phenomenal (from the Greeks), but your re-creation is very impressive, too.

 I was able to construct the mechanism over the weekend.  I spent about 14 hours reading the instructions and building the mechanism.  I was able to follow about 85% to 95% of the instructions with perfect clarity. 

​

However, I wanted to extend my extreme gratitude for the time and effort you (and your company) have put into the research and construction of the replica.  It truly is fascinating.  I am planning a ‘special evening’ in the near future and inviting several of my friends and family to watch the original PBS Nova documentary about the Antikythera Mechanism that originally peaked my interest in the machine about a decade ago.  My machine will be the ‘capstone’ of the evening when I demonstrate how it works.

I am a computer software developer so I am accustomed to following detailed steps and algorithms, but this project was surely challenging.  I am sure there is a market for these machines – specifically high school science classes in addition to high school and college (e.g. university) math/astronomy classes.  Your product is the best on the market.

Overall I am absolutely delighted with the machine. I value it so much more now having assembled one, and understanding some of the complexity of the mechanism, which does not show from the outside. I am looking forward to learning more about it, and being able to identify which planets I am looking at without having to run up the PC with one of the astronomy programmes.

I am mighty pleased with the assembled device.  I think you have done an absolutely amazing job in analysing the Antikythera mechanism, and then turning it into a kit which can be comparatively easily assembled.  Inclusion of tools and spares were much appreciated.

And - the device worked first off!  Better than most of my computer programs :-)
